Nestled in the heart of Connemara, Hillside Lodge B&B offers a tranquil escape for those seeking a cozy retreat surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Irish countryside. From the moment we arrived, Ruth and Stuart welcomed us with warm hospitality, inviting us to unwind in the comfortable guest sitting room and providing a tempting breakfast menu featuring local delights like Connemara smoked salmon and Irish farmhouse cheeses.The charming decor of the lodge reflects a modern touch, complemented by delightful scents that filled the air, creating a luxurious ambiance throughout our stay. We chose a music-themed room with views overlooking the front lawn, where we could wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy the sweeping views of the Connemara landscape.Exploring the area was a delight, with the beautiful island offering three official loop walks, sandy beaches, and breathtaking views of the Wild Atlantic. We ventured out on the safe walking trail to the top of The Diamond Mountain, immersing ourselves in the magical setting and architectural gem that Connemara has to offer.While the accommodation boasted unique themed rooms and modern amenities such as free tea and coffee, we found the true highlight of our stay to be the personal touch that Ruth and Stuart brought to our experience. Their love for Connemara was evident in their attention to detail and genuine desire to share the wonders of the area with their guests.In the evenings, we indulged in a fireside pint of Guinness at a nearby pub, soaking in the lively atmosphere filled with traditional Irish music performed by local musicians.For those looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of Connemara's landscape and experience the warm hospitality of the Irish countryside, Hillside Lodge B&B is the perfect choice.
